The Surprising Benefits Of Lumineers
If you’re interested in Lumineers in Highland Park, Oaklawn, Turtle Creek, or Uptown, White Dental Spa offers beautiful, durable options for restoring your smile. Both Dr. E-Jan Tung and Dr. Quinn Liu are experienced in today’s most popular cosmetic dentistry treatments, including reversible, non-invasive Lumineers.
Lumineers have many surprising benefits for patients who would like to correct minor imperfections in their smiles. Here are just a few:
Your Treatment Is Completely Reversible
This is one of the biggest benefits of choosing Lumineers, rather than traditional porcelain veneers. Traditional veneers are highly effective, but they are not a reversible treatment. A thin layer of enamel, usually about 0.5mm in thickness, must be trimmed away from the teeth in order to make room for traditional veneers. As a result of the removed enamel, traditional veneers are non-reversible, which may make some patients a bit anxious or wary about investing in this procedure.
However, this is not the case with Lumineers. Lumineers are built out of extremely strong, yet thin porcelain material. They are about as thick, on average, as a contact lens. This means that Lumineers can be placed directly over your existing teeth without removing any enamel.
Non-Invasive: No Drills Or Needles Required
Building off of the previous benefit, Lumineers require no numbing or drilling. Traditional veneer preparation requires the use of a dental drill to trim the teeth, which may make some patients nervous or uncomfortable. If you choose Lumineers, you won’t need to worry about any drilling, needles, or discomfort.
Simpler Appointment Process, With No Need For Temporary Veneers
The Lumineers process is similar to that of traditional veneers. First, you’ll see Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu for bite impressions and x-rays. Then, our dentists in Dallas will send this information to an outside dental laboratory, where your Lumineers will be custom-crafted to fit perfectly in your mouth.
If you were getting traditional veneers, enamel would be removed during this appointment, and you would need to wear a set of temporary veneers while you wait for your permanent veneers to be created. Since there is no enamel removal required for Lumineers, you won’t need to bother with uncomfortable and bulky temporary veneers
Lumineers Don’t Cost More Than Veneers, In Most Cases
While there are many factors that may influence the cost of Lumineers, they are, on average, about the same price as traditional porcelain veneers. The cost of your treatment may vary, however, so we recommend consulting with Dr. Liu or Dr. Tung to get an accurate estimate of your Lumineers cost.
