White Signature veneers are superior to traditional veneers in almost every way. The major difference is the thickness, or rather the thin-ness. Traditional veneers are thicker and require more extensive removal of tooth structure; thus, this procedure requires injections to minimize sensitivity. Our veneers, while just as strong and durable as a traditional veneer, are thinner (about as thin as a contact lens) and require minimal removal of tooth structure; thus, eliminating the need for injections. Our veneers ultra-thin design allows the veneers to be seamlessly bonded over your teeth to deliver a natural looking smile.

Another benefit of choosing White Signature veneers is the “Trial Smile”. You will have the opportunity to wear your new temporary veneers for two weeks. This will give you the ability to “try on” and get accustomed to your new beautiful smile. If you love it, your final veneers will be built to your exact “Trial smile”, so no surprises when the veneers are placed! If you want to change something, you will have the opportunity to do so.

At White Dental Spa, our Dallas dentists know there are many things that go into making a beautiful smile. One often-overlooked aspect is the patient’s gum line. Some people have a “gummy” smile, which means they show more gum tissue than is ideal. To create the most beautiful smile, we will discuss if simple gum contouring with our short tissue laser is necessary. This ensures that your gums are the perfect showcase and compliments your new smile instead of distracting from it.

Frequently asked questions

1

What Is The Veneers Process?

After your initial consultation at White Dental Spa, the process of getting veneers will typically take 2 appointments over a period of 2-3 weeks. At your first appointment, Dr. E-Jan Tung or Dr. Quinn Liu will need to prepare your teeth for veneers. To begin this process, Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu will clean your teeth and numb the treatment area to ensure that you don’t feel any discomfort during your treatment. We also offer sedation, if you wish to remain more comfortable in the dentist’s chair. Then, Dr. Liu or Dr. Tung will use a dental drill to remove a thin layer of enamel from each tooth. This ensures the veneers can bond properly to fresh tooth material, and also helps prevent the veneer from adding excessive thickness to your tooth once it’s been applied. After your teeth have been trimmed, Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu will take impressions and images of your teeth. These are sent to our partner dental lab, where your permanent veneers will be built from a strong, durable porcelain material. This may take a week or two. In the meantime, you’ll be sent home with a set of temporary resin veneers. These will cover up your teeth, protect them, and keep them looking great until your final appointment at White Dental Spa. Once your veneers have been completed, they will be sent to our office, and you’ll come back for your final veneer placement appointment. At this appointment, Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu will remove your temporary veneers, and will clean and prepare your teeth. Your veneers will be checked to make sure they fit properly and look great. Then, your veneers will be bonded into place permanently using a powerful dental adhesive. Finally, your veneers and your natural teeth will be polished to make sure they look perfect.

How are White Signature veneers different than traditional veneers?

White Signature veneers are advanced ultra thin veneers that are highly translucent, allowing them to look natural. They are minimal to no-prep veneers so little to no tooth reduction is necessary. Traditional veneers are much thicker and require extensive prepping and removal of original tooth structure. Another benefit over traditional veneers is that your temporary veneers (“the Trial Smile”) will be exactly the same shape and size as your final veneers so you can try them out while you wait for the lab to create your custom veneers. This way you can see if there are any features you would like to change. Also, no unpleasant surprises on the day your final veneers will be cemented. In addition, our White Signature veneers are highly durable and can resist wear and tear to last over 20 years.
3

Is the procedure painful?

You will be comfortable during the procedure. We numb the treatment area to ensure that you don’t feel any discomfort during your treatment. We also offer sedation, if you wish to remain more comfortable in the dentist’s chair. Our White Signature veneers are ultrathin, so you will get a perfect smile with minimal prepping of your teeth in most cases. Once the veneers are bonded, there is no post-operative sensitivity. White Signature veneers will look natural and feel comfortable.
4

How long will the veneers last?

Clinical testing and research have proven veneers to last over 20 years.
5

How long does the procedure take?

The veneers procedure takes only 2 visits from initial consultation. In your initial consultation, you and your Certified Cosmetic Dentist will determine the shade of white and size/shape of teeth that is right for you. On your next visit, generally 2 weeks later, your dentist will place your temporary "Trial Smile." This is your opportunity to try out your new smile. If everything looks perfect, we can permanently place your final veneers on your third visit.
6

With veneers, can I still eat with my front teeth?

Veneers are applied and bonded with high strength adhesive so you can drink and eat just like before. Veneers are still bonded to normal tooth structure so it is still important to maintain good oral hygiene. Regular cleanings and polishing can keep your veneers looking great and also keep your teeth and gums healthy.
7

Can I get veneers instead of braces?

In most cases, yes! If you do not have a severe teeth problem, veneers can eliminate spacing and gaps, align crooked teeth, and reshape small/misshapen teeth. Veneers can also brighten stained or discolored teeth, something you don’t get with braces.
*Tooth contouring may be necessary. Individual cases may vary.
8

Can Veneers Fix Any Oral Health Problems?

No. In most situations, veneers are considered to be a purely cosmetic treatment. They are not a good choice if you have serious oral health issues like cavities or infected teeth, or even if you have gum disease. You must have a healthy mouth to get veneers. However, while they do not fix any oral health problems, this doesn’t mean that veneers don’t have benefits for your oral health. In some cases, veneers can strengthen misshapen and uneven teeth, and provide you with a better overall bite. In addition, investing in veneers from White Dental Spa can help you take better care of your mouth. When your smile is more even and straight, it can be easier to brush and floss between your teeth, and people who have spent the time and money to get veneers are more likely to maintain good oral hygiene. Wondering if you’re a good candidate, or if your mouth is healthy enough for veneers? Contact White Dental Spa for an appointment now, and find out if veneers are the right choice for you in Dallas or Highland Park.
9

How Should I Care For My Veneers?

You can care for your veneers by treating them just like your natural teeth. Brush and floss properly, and see Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu for regular six-month oral exams and teeth cleanings. However, keep in mind that anything that could damage your natural teeth can also cause damage to your veneers. Try to avoid chewing extremely hard foods, like ice and almonds, with your front teeth. You should also stop chewing non-food objects like pens and fingernails, and avoid using your teeth as “tools” to do things like open bags or packages. Follow these tips to make sure your veneers remain strong for years to come.
10

What Are The Benefits Of Veneers?

Permanent whitening – Porcelain is non-porous and does not stain like natural tooth enamel, so your veneers will never become yellowed or stained. However, proper brushing and oral care to avoid stains are still necessary, as the surrounding natural teeth can still become stained, which may harm the aesthetic appeal of your smile. Covers a wide range of cosmetic issues – Veneers are especially versatile, offering a great way for patients to treat a wide variety of cosmetic issues. From tooth stains to misshapen teeth, veneers from White Dental Spa can help you treat any issue that makes you feel self-conscious about your smile.
